A co-op is a member run and member shared organization. Every Travis Co-op Membership is required to donate a minimum of 2 hours per month volunteering. An optional buy out of $10 per month is available for those we are unable to provide 2 hours of time, simply add this to your cart when you place your order. Your 2 hours help to effectively run the Travis Co-op and if you choose to opt out you will help to make it possible for others to give more than 2 hours per month in order to help pay off their annual membership fee or take a discount on their share order. Backup volunteers will be on the list in the event that a volunteer is unable to show for their scheduled shift.
Volunteer shifts:
9:30AM-11AM and 1PM-2PM at Central City Co-op
2PM-4PM at Travis Elementary
4-6PM at Travis Elementary
Volunteers can:
Help with loading and unloading the delivery van on Wednesdays
Put share orders together at Central City Co-op
Set up and tend to the Wednesday market in the Community Room
Assist members with their shares during pick-up hours
Help keep produce fresh while waiting to be picked up
Help answer any questions potential members have about joining the co-op
Watch other volunteer’s children during their volunteer shifts
Help coordinate the Volunteer’s schedules
Be a student of Travis. What a great way to let your kids see how a co-op works and feel good about helping!
